Product Information
(1S,2S)-Cyclopropane-1,2-dicarboxylic acid (CPCA) belongs to the class of cyclopropanes. It has a conformational optical property and can be used for the synthesis of other compounds. CPCA is an important intermediate in the Wittig reaction and is also used in organic chemistry as a chiral building block for amides, which are important in pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals. The optical properties of CPCA depend on its conformation. The 1R form exhibits a red shift and an amide band while the 2R form exhibits a blue shift and a dichroism band.
