It is used as a component in the manufacture of resins, plastics, and synthetic rubber. 2-sec-Butylcyclohexanone is not considered to be a genotoxic agent. The chemical has been shown to be toxicologically and dermatologically equivalent to cyclohexanone, but more stable at high temperatures.
