Product Information
- Diethoxytin
Tin(II) ethoxide is a colorless solid that is insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvents. Tin(II) ethoxide can be produced by the reaction of tin metal with ethanol or acetone. Tin(II) ethoxide has been shown to be an effective catalyst for many reactions, such as oxidation reactions at lower temperatures and alkoxylation reactions at higher temperatures. The crystallinity of tin(II) ethoxide can be determined by x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, which produces overlapped peaks in the spectrum due to the overlapping of crystal planes. The particle size and anion content can also be determined by microscopy and diffraction profiles, respectively.
