Description:
5-Aminoisophthalic acid hydrate is an analogue of 5-aminophthalic acid. It is a fluorescent compound with high stability and functionality, which can be used as a fluorogenic probe in biological research. 5-Aminoisophthalic acid hydrate can be coupled to benzyl azide, maleimido, or cysteamine via the introduction of a suitable coupling agent such as EDC or HOBT. This derivative can then be reacted with ethynyl azide to form the luminescent ethynylbenzylmaleimidate or ethynylcysteamine. The resulting product emits light upon irradiation with ultraviolet light that has been absorbed by the fluorescein moiety.
