N4-Benzoyl-3'-O-tert-butyldimethylsilyl-5'-O-DMT-cytidine 2'-CE phosphoramidite is a monophosphate nucleotide analog that inhibits the growth of cancer cells by binding to DNA and inhibiting the synthesis of RNA. This drug is a novel, modified nucleoside with anticancer properties. It binds to DNA and inhibits the synthesis of RNA, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the enzyme ribonucleotide reductase. N4-Benzoyl-3'-O-tert-butyldimethylsilyl-5'-O-DMT-cytidine 2'-CE phosphoramidite also has antiviral activity against HIV and Herpes Simplex Virus Type 1 (HSV1).
