Product Information
- Glycyltyrosine dihydrate
- Tyrosine, Glycyl-, Hydrate (1:2)
Glycyl-L-tyrosine is a tyrosine derivative that is synthesized by the reaction of glycyl-l-tyrosine with hydrochloric acid. Glycyl-L-tyrosine has been shown to be an intermediate in protein synthesis, where it binds to the carbonyl group of lysine residues. It has been shown to have a neutral pH and no significant solubility in water. The carbonyl group of glycyl-L-tyrosine can react with acylating agents, such as chloroacetic acid, to form N-(2-(N'-acetylglycyl)-N'-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)glycino)succinamic acid (1). This compound has been used for the industrial preparation of N-[2-(N'-acetylglycyl)-N'-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)glycino]succinamic acid (
