2,4-Dimethoxybenzoyl chloride is a catalyzed compound that can be used to produce 2,4-dimethoxybenzoic acid. This compound has been shown to have antioxidative properties as it prevents the formation of nitro compounds and reactive oxygen species. It has also been shown to have anticancer activity in human cancer cells. 2,4-Dimethoxybenzoyl chloride reversibly inhibits the synthesis of DNA and RNA by inhibiting the replication of DNA and the transcription of RNA. The anticancer activity may be due to its ability to cause apoptosis in cancer cells.
