Product Information
5-Bromo-3-chloro-2-(2-methylpropoxy)pyridine is a ligand that inhibits the activity of carboxylic acid enzymes. It is a carboxylic acid inhibitor that binds to the active site of these enzymes by competing with the substrate. 5-Bromo-3-chloro-2-(2-methylpropoxy)pyridine has been shown to inhibit the activity of three isoforms, namely acetyl coenzyme A (CoA) carboxylase, fatty acid synthase, and malonyl CoA mutase. This effect can be attributed to its physicochemical properties as a headgroup inhibitor that selectively binds to these three enzymes because they all have a hydrophobic pocket at their active sites.
