Product Information
Benzyl 4-bromopyridine-2-carboxylate is a ligand that binds to the sepharose column and is used in affinity chromatography. It has an affinity for proteins that have a tertiary amine group, such as fluorescent proteins. Benzyl 4-bromopyridine-2-carboxylate can be synthesised from terpyridine or by functionalising benzyl alcohol with bromide. The chelating properties of this ligand make it useful for fractionation of protein mixtures. This ligand is also used to create antibodies against specific proteins, which are then linked to the benzyl 4-bromopyridine-2-carboxylate through a linker molecule.
