Product Information
N-Methoxy-N-methylpivalamide is a molecule that is used in the treatment of toxoplasmosis. The compound has been shown to have activity against tenella and toxoplasma, two organisms that are difficult to treat. It also shows activity against other pathogens such as Chlamydia trachomatis, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, and Ureaplasma urealyticum. N-Methoxy-N-methylpivalamide inhibits protein synthesis by specifically binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit and preventing the formation of an antibiotic inhibitor complex with the enzyme cell wall synthesis. This binding prevents the formation of an antibiotic inhibitor complex with the enzyme cell wall synthesis that is required for cell wall biosynthesis, inhibiting protein synthesis and cell division.
