Description:
Boc-Tyr-D-Ala-Gly is an irreversible δ opioid receptor antagonist that blocks the activation of δ receptors. It has been modified by replacing the carboxyl group with a mercapto group and adding a tetrapeptide to its N terminus. The modification of Boc-Tyr-D-Ala-Gly has two effects: it increases the potency of this compound and increases its selectivity for δ receptors. The modification also prevents the formation of amide bonds, which are also found in enkephalins and other ligands for δ receptors. This linker may be useful in developing new drugs that target δ receptors without any side effects.
