Product Information
2,5-Dibromothiophene 1,1-dioxide is a probe molecule that can be used in photovoltaic cells to measure the electron transfer rate. The molecule is bifunctional and can serve as both an electron donor and acceptor. 2,5-Dibromothiophene 1,1-dioxide has been used to study the kinetics of solar cell reactions. In addition, it has been found that this molecule is an optical acceptor with a broad spectral response. This material has also been investigated as a potential photocatalyst for hydrogen production and is being studied by researchers at the University of Waterloo.
