Product Information
3-Chloro-cyclobutane-dicarboxylic acid is a precursor to cisplatin, which is a chemotherapy drug used in the treatment of ovarian cancer. 3-Chloro-cyclobutane-dicarboxylic acid is converted by hydrolysis to cisplatin, which inhibits DNA synthesis and cell division. This compound has been shown to be effective against bladder cancer cells as well as ovarian cancer cells. 3-Chloro-cyclobutane-dicarboxylic acid also has an antitumor effect that may be due to its ability to affect the production of reactive oxygen species and nitric oxide (NO).
