p-Xylylenebis(N,N-diethyldithiocarbamate) is a radical initiator that can be used for the synthesis of polymers. It is a cross-linking agent and an important component in copolymerization reactions. p-Xylylenebis(N,N-diethyldithiocarbamate) is used as a gelation agent in the production of polymers. It has been shown to be effective in polymerizing styrene and butyl acrylate. p-Xylylenebis(N,N-diethyldithiocarbamate) has been used as a bifunctional monomer to synthesize sequences of polymers with different termination groups at each end.
