Product Information
- 3-Quinolinecarboxylic Acid, 6-Chloro-2-Methyl-, Ethyl Ester
This compound is an experimental mesoporous material with a transition metal in the center of its structure. The transition metal is surrounded by oxygen-containing groups and organic ligands on the outside of the structure. Mesoporous materials are used for catalytic reactions and have been shown to have high selectivity for desired products. This compound has been shown to be selective for ethyl acetoacetate over other substrates such as quinoline, which can be synthesized from this precursor. Mechanistic studies show that trimethoxysilane, a common catalyst, interacts with acetoacetate to form a siloxane bridge between two adjacent sites in the pore walls.
