Product Information
- Triethyl 2,2',2''-(1,4,7,10-Tetraazacyclododecane-1,4,7-Triyl)Triacetate
Triethyl 2,2',2''-(1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-1,4,7-triyl)triacetate (TAT) is a polymerised drug that has been shown to interact with dextran and gadolinium. TAT is typically synthesized by reacting acetyl chloride with triethylene glycol in the presence of a base. The molecular weight of TAT can be measured using titration or molecular modeling techniques. These measurements have revealed that this polymer has a molecular weight of approximately 1000 Daltons. TAT can be used for magnetic resonance imaging as it binds to gadolinium and exhibits paramagnetic properties. This drug also has the ability to form supramolecular assemblies and nanoassemblies with divalent cations such as gadolinium or iron oxides. These interactions are determined by thermodynamic parameters such as solubility and ionisation constants.
