Methionine-Enkephalin (ME) is a peptide that has been shown to bind to the opioid receptor and inhibit the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines. ME has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on human liver cells, as well as on cultured human epidermal cells. ME may also have a role in epidermal growth factor receptors, which could be related to its anti-inflammatory effects.
