Product Information
5-(1-Biphenyl-4-yl-1H-tetrazol-5-yl)-4-methylpyrimidin-2ylamine (BIPT) is a microtubule inhibitor that is used in the treatment of cancer. BIPT inhibits the activity of tyrosine kinases and has been shown to inhibit growth of tumor cells in mice. It also has an effect on metabolic disorders by regulating glucose uptake and insulin sensitivity, which may be related to its ability to regulate the activity of tyrosine kinase enzymes. The mechanism of action for BIPT is not well understood but it is thought that it binds to a specific site on tubulin in order to disrupt the assembly process and cause cell death.
