Phosphoramidon is a synthetic molecule that blocks the biological activity of epidermal growth factor (EGF) and tetrapeptides, which are molecules derived from EGF. It also inhibits the proliferation of cardiac fibroblasts and basic fibroblasts in vitro. Phosphoramidon has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria strains such as Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pneumoniae. It inhibits bacterial lysis by blocking metalloprotease activity and may have inhibitory effects on collagen production.
