2'-Amino-5'-(4-carboxyphenyl)-[1,1':3',1''-terphenyl]-4,4''-dicarboxylic acid (2-ACPD) is a postsynthetic molecule that kills cancer cells while not harming normal cells. It is synthesized by the covalent attachment of 2'-amino-5'-carboxyphenyl-[1,1':3',1''-terphenyl]-4,4''-dicarboxylic acid to fluorescein. This molecule has been shown to be effective against chemotherapy resistance and death. 2-ACPD controls endogenous molecules such as formate and dysregulation with no side effects. It is also a chemosensor for chemotherapy drugs, which can be used to monitor their effectiveness in killing cancer cells.
