Product Information
AquaMet is a new class of environmentally friendly protective coating that is based on the concept of laminar flow. The coating consists of a layer of aluminium oxide, which is deposited by chemical vapour deposition (CVD). The surface properties are characterized by high chemical stability and low energy requirements. AquaMet has been shown to be effective in reducing the penetration of hazardous substances into the environment, such as heavy metals, organic compounds and chlorofluorocarbons. The coating was used in experiments to investigate the effect on redox potential and amide groups. It was also used for coatings on glass slides and polystyrene particles. NMR spectroscopy showed that AquaMet does not contain any reactive groups or residues that could cause apoptotic cell death. AquaMet is composed of two subunits: an amide group and a stilbene derivative.
