Product Information

Name:
Ginsenoside F5
Description:

Ginsenoside F5 is a saponin that may act as a dietary supplement. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of HL-60 cells, which are cancer cells. This compound also induces apoptosis in HL-60 cells, which is the programmed cell death of cells by activation of caspases, and has significant cytotoxicity. Ginsenoside F5 has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on the growth of chrysantha, a plant that may be used as an anti-inflammatory agent. Ginsenoside F5 induces apoptosis in HL-60 cells by increasing the expression of proapoptotic proteins such as Bax, Bak and p53 in these cells. Ginsenoside F5 also inhibits allergic symptoms in mice through inhibition of histamine release from mast cells and inhibits avian influenza by inhibiting viral RNA synthesis in infected chicken embryos.
