Description:
Ethyl 1,4'-bipiperidine-3-carboxylate dihydrochloride (EBC) is a novel anti-cancer compound that has been shown to inhibit the growth of tumor cells in vitro. EBC has shown antitumor activity in vivo and has also been shown to decrease the production of IL-10, an anti-inflammatory cytokine. The optimum concentration for this compound has been found to be 10 microM. EBC is chemically related to acetophenone, an industrial solvent with a fruity odor and taste.
