Description:
tert-Butyl isoxazol-3-ylcarbamate (TBIC) is a tertiary amine that reacts with electrophiles such as halogens, nitrites, and sulfonates. TBIC reacts efficiently with lithiated isoxazoles to form the corresponding tertiary amides. In contrast to isoxazoles, TBIC does not react with primary and secondary amines. TBIC has been shown to be an efficient catalyst for the synthesis of aminoisoxazoles in high yields.
