3-Aminoquinoline-5-carboxylic acid is a brominated compound that is synthesized through the bromination reaction of 3-aminoquinoline and acid methyl ester. This chemical is then reacted with an excess of sodium methoxide in methanol to produce the methyl ester. The resulting product is purified by vacuum distillation and recrystallization from acetone.
