Product Information
7-Phenyl-6,8-dioxaspiro[3.5]nonane-2-carboxylic acid (PDOCA) is a dicarboxylate that is an intermediate in the synthesis of glycols. It can be obtained from the decarboxylation of pyridine with glycol as a solvent and potassium hydroxide as a catalyst. PDOCA is also used in the synthesis of pesticides and pharmaceuticals. Benzene reacts with PDOCA to form a cyclization product, which has been shown to inhibit bacterial growth.
