Aripiprazole-d8 is a radiopharmaceutical that is used for the detection of dopamine receptors in the brain. It is an analogue of the antipsychotic drug aripiprazole, which has been labeled with the radioactive isotope D8 to allow for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging. The preparation of this product involves chromatography and purification steps. Aripiprazole-d8 should be injected intravenously and should not be taken orally because it would be destroyed by gastric acid before reaching its target.
