Description:
Valsartan-d9 is a reference material for the calibration of analytical instruments used in the analysis of valsartan, an angiotensin II receptor antagonist. This product is manufactured by major supplier and has been shown to be bioequivalent. It is prepared by reacting valsartan with ammonium formate in acetonitrile at a flow rate of 1 mL/min, at a reaction temperature of 25°C. A portion of the reaction mixture is collected and analyzed using an electrospray ionization mass spectrometer to determine the concentration of valsartan-d9. The reanalysis procedure was validated for regulatory purposes, and it has been demonstrated that this method meets all criteria for regulatory acceptance.
