Description:

3,3'-Dibromo-2,2'-bipyridine is a bipyridyl compound that can be used for the synthesis of polymers. It has been shown to have high activity and affinity in polymerization reactions. 3,3'-Dibromo-2,2'-bipyridine also has supramolecular properties and fluorescence enhancement properties. The arene (aromatic hydrocarbon) group on this molecule makes it an excellent choice for coordination with other organic molecules. The ionization potential of 3,3'-dibromo-2,2'-bipyridine is 7.8 eV which is just below that of pyrrole (7.9 eV). This makes it an excellent candidate for the development of new synthetic methods because it can bind to other molecules through hydrogen bonding interactions.
