Product Information

Name:
(±)-Tramadol-d6 HCl (N,N-dimethyl-d6)
Controlled Product
Description:

Tramadol is an opioid analgesic that belongs to the class of synthetic drugs called phenylpiperidines. It is used in the treatment of moderate to severe pain. Tramadol has also been found to be effective for the treatment of neuropathic pain, although its mechanism of action is not known. Tramadol has been detected in wastewater effluent and in surface water from a small Canadian community. Tramadol can be quantified by GC-MS using a deuterium-labeled internal standard (d6). The d6 enantiomer may have different environmental behaviors than tramadol, as it may not be susceptible to degradation by perchlorate or chlorate. However, more research into this subject is needed before conclusions can be drawn.
