Silanetriamine, N,N,N',N',N'',N''-hexamethyl- is a chemical compound that belongs to the group of amines. It is used as a growth factor and an optical dye. Silanetriamine has been shown to have a number of health effects including cancer and toxicity. The reaction mechanism of silanetriamine includes protonation of the nitrogen atom followed by the release of ammonia and hydrogen ions. This results in the formation of ammonium hydroxide (NH4OH) and water vapor. Silanetriamine can also be used as an optical dye in recording experiments because it absorbs infrared light at 930 nm.
