Product Information
- 1,2-Cyclododecanediol
- Cyclododecane-1,2-Diol
1,2-Cyclododecanediol (CDD) is a diol with two hydroxyl groups that can be used to make bioactive molecules. CDD is a bioactive molecule and has shown immunomodulatory effects, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of proinflammatory cytokines. This chemical has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects in mice. CDD has also been shown to act as an antioxidant by scavenging reactive oxygen species, such as peroxide and methyl myristate. It can also react with molybdenum, forming a complex that inhibits the activity of monooxygenases. The reaction between CDD and molybdenum is catalyzed by phenolic compounds. There are other uses for this chemical, including pharmaceuticals and industrial applications.
