Product Information

Name:
Methoxymethyl Phenyl Sulfone
Description:

Methoxymethyl Phenyl Sulfone is an aryl halide that belongs to the group of zirconium compounds. This compound has been shown to form two different stereoisomers, which are methoxymethyl phenyl sulfone and mesoxyphenyl phenyl sulfone. Methoxymethyl Phenyl Sulfone has also been shown to exist in three polymorphs: alpha, beta, and gamma. The alpha form is a white solid with a melting point of 84-85 °C, while the beta form is a colorless liquid with a boiling point of 176-177 °C. Methoxymethyl Phenyl Sulfone has antiinflammatory activity due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis by blocking cyclooxygenase enzymes. It can be used as a synthon for the synthesis of pyrazoles and amides.
