Chloro(trimethylphosphine)gold(I) is a chloro-derivative of gold that is used as a reagent in organic synthesis. It is an ejecting agent that can be used to form other compounds by reacting with an organic compound and adding heat. Chloro(trimethylphosphine)gold(I) has been shown to have inhibition potential towards sarcoplasmic reticulum enzymes, as well as the chloride channel in bacteria. The chlorine atom present in this compound reacts with hydrogen peroxide to produce hydrochloric acid, which can be used for the synthesis of monomers.
