Description:
6-Heptynenitrile is a natural product that belongs to the group of triazines and has been shown to have anticancer properties. 6-Heptynenitrile has been found to inhibit lipoxygenase, an enzyme that catalyzes the formation of leukotrienes from arachidonic acid. It also inhibits cancer cells by inhibiting the activity of regioselectivity, an enzyme involved in the synthesis of DNA. 6-Heptynenitrile binds to azide groups and forms a stable triazine intermediate with carbanions. The conformation of 6-heptynenitrile in solution was determined using X-ray diffraction.
