L-Proline sodium salt is an inorganic compound that inhibits the enzyme fatty acid amidohydrolase and is used as a cosmetic ingredient. L-Proline sodium salt has been shown to inhibit the production of kallikrein, which is a proteolytic enzyme involved in the degradation of skin proteins and lipids. It also inhibits the production of cutaneous enzymes like crth2, which are involved in lipid synthesis. L-Proline sodium salt is an inhibitor of quinoline derivatives, such as amide, which are found in certain cosmetics. The reaction yield for L-Proline sodium salt is not high enough for industrial applications and its use as an inhibitor has not been expanded beyond the cosmetically industry.
