Product Information
13-Bromotridecanoic acid is a brominated derivative of dibromethane. It is a white, crystalline solid that can be obtained by the condensation of two molecules of dibromethane in the presence of sulfur. 13-Bromotridecanoic acid has one singlet and one triplet state and can be analyzed using techniques such as nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. It also has an isomer with a long-chain alkyl side chain, which can be obtained from the reaction of 13-bromotridecanoic acid with stearate. The analysis of 13-bromotridecanoic acid shows a signal at 7.3 ppm, which corresponds to the quintet state. This signal shifts to 7.5 ppm in the presence of methylene groups.
