Trans-4-Isopropylcyclohexanol is a synthetic alcohol with an isopropyl group. It has been shown to have acute toxicities in rats and mice, as well as supercritical toxicity in rabbits. Trans-4-Isopropylcyclohexanol also reacts with chloride ions to form chlorinated derivatives, which are more potent than the parent compound. This reaction is stereoselective, which means that it will only occur at one of the two possible stereoisomers. Chlorinated derivatives can be used for skin care products or in hydrochloric acid production.
