Description:
2-Nitro-1-phenylethan-1-ol is a nitro compound that can be used as a catalyst in organic reactions. It has been shown to have high catalytic rates and can be used for the synthesis of nitroalkanes. The reaction products are hydroxyl group and isolated yield of nitroaldol. 2-Nitro-1-phenylethan-1-ol is synthesized by the nitroaldol reaction of sodium salts with an asymmetric synthesis.
