Product Information
4,6-Dichloro-3-phenylpyridazine is a chemical compound that has the chemical formula ClC(N)Cl. It is used in the production of diazides and diazido compounds. 4,6-Dichloro-3-phenylpyridazine can be manufactured by reacting aniline with hydrochloric acid and phosphorus oxychloride in the presence of chlorine gas. The reaction proceeds via elimination of HCl to give chloroacetaldehyde. Chloroacetaldehyde reacts with phosphorus oxychloride to form phosphoryl chloride. The phosphoryl chloride reacts with aniline to produce 4,6-dichloro-3-phenylpyridazine. This compound is also produced from recycled materials such as steel mill slag or waste products from paper mills. Recirculated water can be used as a reaction medium for this process, which reduces the need for fresh water and energy input
