It is an important drug target for the treatment of cancer due to its ability to inhibit the production of phosphoinositides that are necessary for the regulation of cell growth, proliferation and differentiation. The therapeutic potential of 1H,2H,3H-pyrrolo[3,4-c]pyridin-3-one has been demonstrated through chemistry studies and medicinal chemistry approaches.
