Product Information
- 4-Carboxymethylene-piperidine-1-carboxylic acid benzyl ester
- {1-[(Benzyloxy)Carbonyl]Piperidin-4-Ylidene}Acetic Acid
1-Cbz-Piperidin-4-ylidene-acetic acid is a molecule that has a phosphate group and an indole moiety. It is a nucleophilic attack reagent that can be used to study the structural features of biological molecules, such as proteins and nucleic acids. The regulatory effect of 1-Cbz-Piperidin-4-ylidene-acetic acid on the α subunit of protein kinase A (PKA) has been studied in vitro. This inhibition was found to be bifunctional, with both hydrophobic and carboxylate groups playing a role in binding to the α subunit. This compound is also involved in the biosynthesis of indole-3-acetyl l -aspartic acid.
