Product Information
5-Bromo-4-methyl-2-nitroaniline is a benzimidazole derivative that has been used as a target product for the synthesis of various other biologically active compounds. It is an intermediate in the hydrolysis of 5-bromo-4-chloroaniline, which leads to the formation of 5-bromo-4-methylbenzaldehyde and methyl benzoate. It can also be converted into other derivatives such as 6-(5,6,7,8 tetrahydronaphthalenyl)benzimidazole and 2,3,5,6 tetrafluoro benzimidazole through cyclization reactions. Hydrolysis of 5-bromo-4-(methylsulfonyl)aniline produces 5-(methoxycarbonyl)benzimidazole and methylamine.
