Description:
Propargyl 2-bromoisobutyrate is a reactive alkyne that can be used in synthesis of polymers. It has been shown to form micelles and gels, and is soluble in aqueous solutions. Propargyl 2-bromoisobutyrate has also been shown to be reactive with trimethylammonium chloride, which is used for the production of polypropylene. The reaction of propargyl bromoisobutyrate with terminal alkynes produces a polymerization kinetics that increases linearly with time.
