Product Information
Granilin is a natural compound that is an isomeric form of Iridomyrmecin. It has been shown to have potent cytotoxicity against cancer cells and has been investigated as a potential anticancer drug. Granilin was also found to be effective in the treatment of acne vulgaris, with a potency similar to that of erythromycin. It was found to inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus epidermidis, which can cause biofilm formation on medical devices and other surfaces. The acetylated form of granilin was shown to have potent cytotoxicity against cancer cells and has been investigated as a potential anticancer drug.
Granilin may also be useful against bacterial infections such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). It has been shown to reduce the production of proinflammatory cytokines (e.g., tumor necrosis factor alpha) by inhibiting NF-κ
