This drug is also an inhibitor of phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5), which is responsible for breaking down cGMP, thereby regulating smooth muscle tone in penile tissue. 3,5-Dimethylacetildenafil has been shown to inhibit the enzyme activity of protein kinases by binding to ATP and preventing it from converting into ADP.
