Product Information

Name:
2-((Methoxycarbonyl)amino)-1H-benzo[d]imidazole-5-carboxylic acid
Description:

Fenbendazole is a benzimidazole drug that is used as an anthelmintic against roundworms and other parasitic worms. It is marketed worldwide under the trade names of FENBENDAZOLE®, FENBIX®, and others. Fenbendazole sulfone is a metabolite of fenbendazole. It has been shown to have an anti-tumor effect on colon cancer cells in vitro. Gold nanoparticles have been synthesized by assembling fenbendazole molecules in aqueous solution and then adding gold ions to form nanoclusters with diameters between 10 and 20 nm. This assembly process has been used for the production of monoclonal antibodies, which are being used for the detection of fenbendazole sulfone in urine samples. The immunochromatographic assay for fenbendazole sulfone has been developed as a sensor for this drug in foodstuffs
