Description

2-(1,8-Naphthyridin-2-yl)phenol is an anticancer agent that has shown proapoptotic effects in a variety of cancer cells. This compound induces cell death by activating the caspase cascade. 2-(1,8-Naphthyridin-2-yl)phenol has been shown to increase the sensitivity of testicular cancer cells to radiation therapy and chemotherapeutic drugs. The compound also enhances apoptosis in fibrosarcoma cells, which may be due to its ability to inhibit DNA methylation and regulate gene expression.
2-(1,8-Naphthyridin-2-yl)phenol has been shown to have homologous activity against human cancer cells at low doses and act as a signal transducer in a dose dependent manner.
