- 4-(4-Acetylphenoxy)butanoic acid
4-(4-acetylphenoxy)butanoic acid is a conjugate that has been engineered to bind to the tumour antigen CD20. It also binds specifically to monoclonal antibodies and has an increased half-life in vivo. 4-(4-acetylphenoxy)butanoic acid is active against solid tumours and is effective in conjugates with monoclonal antibodies. Inotuzumab ozogamicin, which is a specific antibody conjugate of 4-(4-acetylphenoxy)butanoic acid, was developed as a treatment for B cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. This drug has shown promising results in preclinical studies demonstrating an increased survival rate in animal models. The sugar residues on the surface of the antigen CD20 may enhance the efficacy of this immunoconjugate by increasing binding affinity.
