Product Information
6,9-Diazaspiro[4.5]decane-7,10-dione (DAD) is a synthetic compound that has been shown to have antidyskinetic properties in rats and schizophrenic patients. DAD has been shown to inhibit the synthesis of L-DOPA and dopamine by acting as an analog of these compounds. It also inhibits the biochemical reactions leading to the production of dopamine. DAD is long-acting, with effects lasting for up to one week after injection. The most common side effect is a reduction in locomotor activity, which may be related to its ability to inhibit striatal dopamine release.
